The Marquis collection was designed to be looked at from more than one side, which multiplies the parts that need care and the places a seal can fail. Chimney Sweep Vancouver repairs the appliance side of every model in it, from the Capella inserts to the linear units, and keeps the gas train closed unless the flame points to a problem there. Valve and pilot work is covered on the gas fireplace repair page.
A three-sided Atrium has a front pane and two end panes, each in its own frame with its own glass gasket, and each must seal for the firebox to stay sealed. When one end runs hotter than the other, or soot creeps in at a corner, a flattened gasket on one pane is the usual cause. We remove one face at a time, renew its gasket, and refit it before moving on, so the firebox is never left open on more than one side.
The Bentley ST and the see-through Infinite have the same problem in a different shape: the face in the second room is cleaned less often, fogs sooner, and has its gasket checked least. On every visit we treat both faces as the front. The barrier screens on each side go back on before the fire is lit, because a child can reach either face, and both run hot enough to burn.
The Infinite linear firebox was sold with conversion kits that decide how it is seen. A see-through kit opens the back so the fire shows in a second room, while a back shield kit closes it for single-sided use, and either can be changed later if the room layout changes. Porcelain liner backs and ends are separate pieces, so a chipped end panel does not mean replacing the set. The liners show every smear, so they are wiped with a dry, soft cloth after the glass is back in, never sprayed with cleaner.
Edge trims in stainless or black frame the opening, and the decorative ember glass comes in colours such as white and Azuria blue. A damaged trim is straightened or refinished; ember glass that has dulled over a port is lifted and washed. Changing a Marquis Infinite from see-through to single-sided is a half-day job with the glass out, and owners around Vancouver usually combine it with a full clean.
Parts for this collection are listed against the model name and against the code on the rating plate, and several have serial breaks. These are the pieces we replace most.
Glass and gasket by face - front, end, and second-side panes are different parts on multi-sided units, ordered by position.
Porcelain liner panels - backs and ends sold individually, matched to the firebox length on linear models.
Capella insert surrounds - the trim that closes the gap to the old fireplace opening, sized to the 26, 33, 36, or IDV43.
Media kits - ember glass by colour, driftwood, rocks, or log sets, always as a full kit for the burner length.
Barrier screens - one per glass face, listed parts that must be refitted after any repair.
A photo of the plate and the whole front lets us confirm which pane, liner, or surround fits before anything is ordered.
The older Marquis names, among them Solara, Solara II, Cove, Gemini, and Vantage, are out of production, but they share pilot assemblies, valves, and remotes with the newer models. Glass, gaskets, and media are the parts that become hard to find first. A firebox with sound steel and an available glass assembly is worth repairing, and many are. Where an original pane is no longer made, we check whether a current assembly from a sister model fits the same frame before calling a unit finished.
Skyline II and III owners have one extra step. Certain of those linear units were recalled in 2019 over a gap in the outer cabinet that could let nearby framing overheat, with a free repair offered. If you cannot confirm that yours was repaired, leave it off and let us check the cabinet before any other work. Beyond that, we put the repair cost beside a replacement option and let you choose.
A Marquis Fireplace Repair Vancouver visit starts with the fireplace cold and every face accessible. We remove the screens, inspect each pane and gasket, check the liner panels and trim, and relay the media clear of the burner ports, one side at a time. Parts are quoted from the plate. Each technician we send holds a gas licence and insurance, so a visit that uncovers a gas fault can move straight on to it.
